DEHS Staff And Lawyers Sponsor Christmas Families
Staff and attorneys at DEHS are again participating in a program designed to help Sioux Falls families have a Christmas they might not otherwise have.
The program is organized by Volunteers of America and participating businesses and organizations provide items on a family’s Christmas list. Volunteers of America also selects the families sponsored by participants. The items donated typically are clothing needed by family members and toys, games, books or school supplies requested by the children. Only new items are given.
The law firm’s involvement began several years ago on the initiative of its support staff. Its participation remains led by staff members. Over the past several years, the firm has sponsored one family each year. This year, the staff decided to sponsor two families. This year’s families are single parent households, one with four children and one with five children.
