Donohue Elected Regent of American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

November 12, 2008

P. Daniel Donohue was elected to the Board of Regents of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) at the organization's recent fall meeting. The 39-member Board is the governing body of the College.

ACTEC is a professional association consisting of approximately 2,500 lawyers from throughout the United States. A lawyer can not apply for membership in the College but must be nominated by current Fellows and elected by the membership at large. Fellows are selected on the basis of professional reputation and ability in the fields of trusts and estates and on the basis of having made substantial contributions to these fields through lecturing, writing, teaching and bar activities.

Donohue, elected an ACTEC Fellow in 1988, has nearly 35 years experience in the planning and administration of trusts and estates, including extensive work in the area of dynasty trusts. In addition to his position in ACTEC, Donohue serves on the South Dakota Governor’s Task Force on Trust Law Reform and is a member of American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
