The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has released a new handbook for employers for filling out I-9 employment verification forms.
The handbook, labeled as the April 3, 2009, revision, gives employers background on the I-9 form, as well as guidance on filling them out and on an online system the government also uses. I-9 forms are documents all employers must complete at the time of hire for new employees to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
The full-color, 65-page handbook is available free online.
