Vanessa Rollins, a registered patent attorney, recently joined Davenport, Evans, Hurwitz & Smith, LLP, to help expand and support the firm’s intellectual property and business law practices.
Vanessa will assist clients through the entire product development cycle, from the earliest decision to seek patent protection to the ultimate branding of the final product. She also has expertise in negotiating and drafting various technology transfer, licensing, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements; procuring patent and trademark protection; and enforcing intellectual property rights.
Prior to joining Davenport Evans, Vanessa was a patent attorney in private practice for eight years and a law school professor at both Wayne State University Law School and Ava Maria School of Law, teaching intellectual property and contracts courses. Vanessa has written several intellectual property-related articles and lectured frequently for various organizations.
Vanessa, who has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Utah, and her Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Notre Dame Law School, is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is also a member of the Utah and California State Bar Associations and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
