Kathryn E. Ford

Kathy practices in the areas of commercial and general litigation, health care law, public utilities law and general corporate matters. Kathy came to the firm after working as Associate General Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs for Knology, Inc., a regional broadband service provider located in the southeast and upper mid-west. Prior to that Kathy was an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of South Dakota, where she prosecuted criminal health care fraud and other white collar offenses such as bank fraud, credit card fraud and identity theft. Kathy also spent several years as an Associate General Counsel at QWEST Communications, practicing in the area of regulatory litigation before numerous state public utility commissions and the FCC. Kathy began her career after law school as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Donald E. O’Brien, United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa in Sioux City.

Kathy is a 1992 graduate of the University of South Dakota, School of Law and was president of the Moot Court Board. She previously served on the Brandon, SD City Council and will complete an MBA at Auburn University in May, 2010.
