Monte R. Walz

Monte has a diverse practice which includes eminent domain work, bank compliance matters and health care law. His recent work has involved serving as corporate counsel to a three-state water pipeline project and providing legal counsel on matters ranging from land acquisitions to bid procedures and construction contracts. Monte also has extensive experience in assisting banks and their marketing partners in developing a variety of consumer loan products including credit card programs and student loans in compliance with the myriad federal laws and rules governing regulated lenders. Health care continues to be a significant part of Monte's practice, particularly with regard to physician contracting and compliance with Stark and Anti-Kickback laws.

Monte serves on the Board of Directors of Sanford USD Medical Center and is a member of the Executive Committee and Board Credentialing Sub-Committee. He is the past Chairman of the five-state Midwest Region of the American Diabetes Association. He has also served on the Board of a prison ministry organization. Monte has written articles that appear in the Hamline Law Review, the John Marshall Law Review and the University of South Dakota Law Review.
